HOMEWORK
Students in my Language Arts class are required to read for 20 minutes or more, 5 nights a week, in addition to finishing any classwork they did not complete in class. Students will also have weekly vocabulary/spelling tests to study for.
Students must keep a daily summary of what they read each night in their composition notebook. It doesn't have to be long, just a sentence or two at first. In time I will specify what is to be included within the summary. Students may read fiction or non-fiction. However, reading level should equal the students current abilities. The notebook will be checked every Monday when arriving in class. Be prepared. They are only accepted on the day they are due (unless a student is absent that day). There are no make-ups for summaries. Vocabulary/Spelling tests will be every other FRIDAY.
